Publication Ethics Statement

Responsibility of the Editor

The editor’s primary responsibility is to determine which submissions to the journal will be published. Decisions are made based on the manuscript’s merit. Race, gender, sexual orientation, religious or political beliefs, ethnicity, or citizenship are not considered. 


The editor and editorial staff of Academic Perspectives does not disclose information about a submitted manuscript other than to the corresponding author, reviewers and editorial board members.

Disclosure and conflicts of interest
The editor and editorial staff and board members do not use unpublished information in a submitted manuscript for their research purposes Editors shall recuse themselves from considering manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.

Publication decisions
Manuscripts being considered for publication undergo peer-review by at least two reviewers who are expert in the field. 

Responsibility of Reviewers

Purpose of peer review

The peer-review process helps the editor in reaching publishing decisions and may also serve the author in improving the quality of the submission.

Reviewers shall withdraw from the review process if they are unqualified to evaluate the contribution or cannot provide an assessment promptly.

Reviewers treat manuscripts for review as confidential documents and do not discuss papers with others without the approval of the editor.

Disclosure and conflicts of interest
Reviewers do not use unpublished information in a submitted manuscript for their research purposes. Reviewers shall recuse themselves from considering manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.

Reviewers are objective in their assessments, and their comments are be supported by data or arguments. 


Acknowledgment of sources
Reviewers shall identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. 

Responsibility of the Author

Reporting standards
Authors shall present an accurate account of the work performed, and underlying data shall be represented accurately in the paper. Manuscripts must contain sufficient detail and references to enable others to replicate the work. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable.

Data access and retention
Authors should be prepared to make the data publicly available if practicable and must ensure accessibility of such data for at least ten years after publication. (while protecting the confidentiality of the participants and provided the legal rights concerning proprietary data do not preclude their release).

Originality, plagiarism, and acknowledgment of sources
Authors shall submit original works and will cite or quote the work and/or words of others. Publications influential in determining the nature of the reported work should also be cited.


Concurrent publication
Manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Academic Perspectives cannot be under consideration for publication by other journals. Manuscripts which have been published as copyrighted material elsewhere cannot be submitted. 

Authorship of the paper
All those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. Others who have participated in substantive aspects of the research project should be acknowledged or listed as contributors. 

Disclosure and conflicts of interest
All authors should disclose in their manuscript any financial or another substantive conflict of interest that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. Readers should be informed about who has funded research and on the role of the funders in the analysis.

Fundamental errors in published works
If a significant error is found, the author must promptly notify the journal editor and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper. If the editor or the publisher learns from a third party that a published work contains a significant error, it is the obligation of the author to retract or correct the paper or to provide evidence to the editor of the correctness of the original paper.
